Dog Paddle is a social crew and we train at least once per week on the water. We are a mixed dragon boat crew who came together in the year 2002. The original team was formed out of a group of friends whose winter sport was sled dog racing - hence the name. Although we are a ‘social’ team, we like to be competitive on the water, and have had various successes in the past including being the only interstate team to win the social teams event three years running at the Sydney Chinese New Year Competition.
We like to party together, enjoy a quiet beer and a BBQ at Shed 2 after training. Our families are part of the team for off water events, if they are not already paddling. We are always looking for new ’doggies’ of all ages to join the ’kennel ‘.
